James has been with History Flight since September 2018, commencing with rotations on Tarawa and moving into Europe as the European Operations Manager.

James holds a BA in Archaeology, an MA in Landscape Archaeology and an MSC in Forensic Archaeology, Crime Scene and International Investigation.  James is also a Prince 2 qualified Project Manager.

James has been working since 2002 in the field of archaeology and worked for 10 years with the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) dealing with mid and post conflict environments in the Middle East and the Balkans, working on some of the most high profile cases of genocide and mass atrocities.

With the ICMP In the Western Balkans James operated as a senior forensic archaeologist, and in Iraq operated as a Forensic Archaeologist, Forensic Coordinator, Mission Support Manager, and Deputy Head of Mission, working on human rights abuses and mass atrocity cases such as the Anfal campaign against the Kurds and those against Shia populations, providing expert training and capacity building for government ministries, judicial authorities and law enforcement to elevate forensic practice to meet the highest international standards.
